We get underserved Colorado teens outdoors β pairing them with mentors for year-round wilderness education, leadership crews, and backcountry expeditions.
Our Mission
Trailhead Youth Collective removes the cost, gear, and transportation barriers that keep low-income teens off the trail. Through consistent adult mentorship and progressively challenging time outdoors, we build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong connection to the natural world.
What We Do
Small mentor-led crews meet two Saturdays a month for hikes, climbing, and trail-stewardship projects across the Front Range.
Fully funded 7-day backcountry trips where teens learn navigation, Leave No Trace, and self-reliance far from the trailhead.
A paid summer fellowship that trains returning teens to mentor the next cohort and earn a Wilderness First Aid certification.
Where We Work
Our gear room and offices sit two blocks from the Boulder Creek Path. We run programs across Boulder, Larimer, and Jefferson counties, partnering with Title I schools and local land trusts to reach the teens who need us most.
